Notre Dame Academy (NDA) is set to celebrate the school’s 120th anniversary in the coming year. Since its founding by the Sisters of Notre Dame in 1904, they have dedicated themselves to educating young women and empowering them to be intellectually curious, passionately faith-filled and socially responsible servant leaders.

While much has changed over the last 120 years, from the school’s curriculum to technology, their mission to provide the best education to young women in northwest Ohio remains unwavering and is woven into the iconic plaid fabric of today’s NDA.

Faculty and staff take pride in carrying forward the charism of the Sisters of Notre Dame. Students come from a mosaic of cultures and backgrounds whose paths all converge at the same place, elevating them to realize their utmost and amazing potential.

Over the past century, several thousand young women have graduated from NDA; women who have emerged as leaders in their fields, communities, states and around the world.

The most recent NDA graduating class, are poised for a bright future–129 graduates earned a collective $15 million in college scholarships and were accepted to 103 different colleges and universities. In fact, 95 percent of them attend a four-year college.

The school has recently embarked on a new five-year strategic plan. This plan will not only propel the school into the future but also empower future Eagles to soar boldly.

Read more about this plan at nda.org/strategic-plan, which includes, among several items, prioritizing the mental well-being of students; creating a nurturing environment where students feel more empowered to share their individual thoughts and ideas; and developing a comprehensive facilities master plan that ensures future growth while keeping safety and security at the forefront.

The school’s new plan, combined with expanded educational choices, makes now the perfect time for young women and their families to experience the NDA difference.

When the EdChoice Scholarship program was expanded earlier this year, it provided all families–regardless of income or school district–with additional financial assistance for private school tuition in Ohio.

The academy believes that every young woman deserves an education that truly benefits them, and they remain committed to collaborating with families in various ways to ensure that an NDA education becomes a reality for their daughter.

To commemorate the school’s 120th anniversary, staff members are planning a series of events and initiatives that will not only celebrate past achievements but also chart a course for the future.

Here’s to the next 120 years of empowering women through education.
