GENACROSS LUTHERAN SERVICES is partnering with RE/MAX Preferred Associates for a backpack and school supply drive for 75 local children.
On Saturday, August 8, individuals can bring donations to a drivethru drop-off from 9 to 11 a.m., at Genacross Lutheran Services, at 2021 North McCord Road, next to Mr. Freeze, in Toledo.
School supplies are needed for both girls and boys in elementary and middle school. New items such as backpacks, lined notebooks, #2 pencils, crayons, color markers and glue are requested. Cash donations will be accepted, and donation receipts will be available.
“This collaboration will help the 75 children in our Family and Youth Services program be ready to start school later this summer,” said Mike George, executive director of the Genacross Lutheran Services Foundation. “Most of the youth we care for come to us with nothing and have no family to provide for their needs, so this school supply drive will have a huge impact.”
Items can also be dropped off before August 8, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Genacross Lutheran Services.
