Heritage Farm Fest, Saturday, October 3, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Carter Historic Farm Enjoy a day on the farm with live music, a farm-to-table meal, wagon rides, games and more. Free event. Come experience a depression-era harvest celebration for all ages.
Chair Yoga, Monday, October 5, 5 to 5:45 p.m., at W.W. Knight Nature Preserve Chair yoga is a gentle form of yoga practiced using a chair on top of a mat. Bring your own mat. It is designed to make yoga accessible to individuals with limited mobility or those who have difficulty standing for extended periods.
Mat Yoga, Monday, October 5, 6 to 7 p.m., at W.W. Knight Nature Preserve An all-levels yoga practice at the serene and peaceful W.W. Knight Nature Preserve.
This practice will be a combination of standing poses and poses on the mat.
Art in the Park: Bead Pumpkins, Thursday, October 8, 6 to 7 p.m., at W.W. Knight Nature Preserve Enjoy craft time with coffee, tea and hot chocolate while making wooden bead pumpkins.
Who, Who, Who’s There Owl Walk, Thursday, October 8, 7:30 to 9 p.m., at Bradner Preserve This class will be on the hunt for owls, especially Ohio’s largest resident owl. Start at the nature center for a short talk and then hit the trail for some owl calling.
Book Club, Tuesday, October 13, 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., at Carter Historic Farm What happens when humans are deprived of art, expression and individuality? What happens to such a society when put under pressure? Read Aldous Huxley’s “Brave New World” and join WCPD for a discussion in the farm house.
