FRANCISCAN CARE CENTER IS DELIGHTED TO ANNOUNCE ITS UPCOMING CELEBRATION OF NATIONAL SKILLED NURSING CARE WEEK, (NSNCW) 2026, scheduled for May 10 to 16.
Kicking off on Mother's Day, this year's theme, “Moments in Bloom,” promises a heartwarming week dedicated to recognizing the deep impact of everyday care and connection.
Established by the American Health Care Association (AHCA) in 1967, NSNCW encourages skilled nursing care centers nationwide to host a variety of events that spotlight the individuals who reside, work, and volunteer within their communities.
This year’s “Moments in Bloom” theme beautifully articulates how everyday acts of compassion, connection, and teamwork grow into meaningful experiences for residents, families and staff.
It celebrates the idea that both big and small moments, when nurtured, can truly flourish to help residents live life to the fullest and with purpose.
“The ‘Moments in Bloom’ theme resonates deeply with the heart of what we do every day at Franciscan Care Center,” said Franciscan Care Center Administrator Dionne Hackett. “From a comforting hand to a shared laugh, these seemingly small gestures are like seeds that, when nurtured, grow into a beautiful garden of well-being and joy for our residents. This year, starting on Mother’s Day, we have a unique opportunity to honor those cherished moments and the incredible people who create them,” she said.
The leadership at Franciscan Care Center wishes to extend a special and heartfelt message of gratitude to the entire nursing staff during this special week.
“We are profoundly grateful for their tireless work, unwavering commitment, and the compassionate care they provide to our residents every single day. Their dedication is the foundation upon which our residents thrive, and we are honored to have such devoted professionals as part of our family,” said Hackett.
In honoring the Franciscan staff, she said, “This week we particularly want to shine a light on their sacrifices, their empathy, and their continuous efforts to ensure the highest quality of life for everyone in our care.”
Throughout the week of May 10-16, Franciscan Care Center will be buzzing with special events and activities designed to embody the spirit of “Moments in Bloom.”
Here are a few of the amazing activities planned: •Sunday, May 10 (Mother’s Day): “Bloom Works”–The week kicks off with a tasty “dirt pudding” treat from the talented culinary team, followed by an engaging session of planting, potting, and decorating small flower pots, encouraging residents to cultivate their own mini-gardens.
