How to be a better person

ON THE JOURNEY TO PERSONAL GROWTH, we all seek ways to be better people.

This desire for improvement reflects people's capability to grow and evolve. While the idea of completely transforming oneself may seem overwhelming, the key lies in small everyday actions. It is not about giving up everything and starting from scratch, but about integrating positive habits that, over time, make a significant difference.

In this article, we will explore six simple ways to improve as individuals, always remembering that the first step is to try.

•Practice kindness: A way to treat others with respect and consideration. Being kind is one of the most effective ways to improve as a person; being kind means treating others with respect and consideration.

It may mean avoiding disagreeable behaviors that could make others uncomfortable.

•Care for the environment: Sharing in the responsibility reflects the quality of people we are. Caring for the environment is a shared responsibility that we must all assume; it shows the effort we are willing to put in.

When we share responsibility by cleaning up the messes made in our environment, even if it is not our mess, it contributes to a cleaner and healthier world.

•Offer sincere compliments: A genuine compliment can brighten someone’s day. We can foster an environment of appreciation and recognition when acknowledging the efforts and qualities of others.

What truly makes a compliment valuable is being authentic, so compliments must be sincere and appropriate.

•Stay mindful: Mindfulness is essential to being a better person. We can respond more appropriately to situations and the needs of others when we are present and aware of our surroundings. This involves being attentive to what is happening around us and acting considerately.

•Inspire others: Inspiring others motivates you and others. Being a source of inspiration for others is a powerful way to improve as a person. We can positively influence those around us by encouraging others to achieve their own dreams and aspirations when we share our positive energy and motivation.

•Disconnect from your phone: It can be a way to strengthen relationships. In a world dominated by technology, it is easy to get lost in screens. However, we can strengthen our relationships and enjoy more authentic and meaningful moments by disconnecting and focusing on the people around us.

Modern life presents us with constant challenges, at work, at home, at school, and in the environment; perhaps a difficult boss or tight deadlines or it could be students struggling to balance their social lives and school, or family units struggling to manage their load. In any case, challenges offer opportunities to better oneself in every sense; they can be a chance to take a step toward personal growth.

From being kind to those around us to caring for the environment, every action counts. At the end of the day, what really matters is the effort we put into being better.
